Some purées taste like a hug in a bowl, and this one is exactly that. Tender green beans bring a soft, earthy sweetness, potato lends its familiar creaminess, and a small knob of butter ties it all together with a rich, velvety finish bébé will lean right into. Just three ingredients and a few minutes of blending stand between you and this French classic.
Watch how it's done in the video below. 👇
Ingredients
(Makes about 1 cup / 4–5 servings)
- 1 small potato (about 200 g), peeled and diced
- A generous handful of green beans (about 100 g), trimmed and cut into pieces
- 1 small knob of butter (about 1 tsp)
- Water, breast milk, or formula, to thin as needed
Let's Purée
- Peel and dice the potato, then trim the green beans and cut into smaller pieces.
- Steam both together on water level 3, until very tender and easily pierced with a fork.
- Transfer to the blending bowl, adding the knob of butter while everything is still warm so it melts in smoothly.
- Blend until silky smooth, adding a splash of water, breast milk, or formula to reach the right consistency for baby's stage.
- Cool to a safe temperature before serving to bébé.
As always, introduce new foods one at a time and watch for any reactions, and check with your pediatrician about timing and any known allergies before serving.
